Charity began her adventure as a Doula and Childbirth Educator in 2009 after the birth of her third daughter. After hearing about the birth experiences of friends and family, she recognized a gap existed in educating and supporting new parents so they were able to make informed choices and actively participate in their births. Since she began, she has had the pleasure of supporting many families in a variety of situations and circumstances such as VBAC, HBAC, VBAC2, Twins, Cesarean and water births at home. She is actively involved in the Orangeville birthing community and served as Co-Director for the midwifery advocacy group, Where's My Midwife? A highlight of her birthing career was when she had the opportunity (twice) to travel and stay at "The Farm" in Tennessee to meet with world renowned midwife Ina May Gaskin. Choose to live a healthy and fulfilling life. Wellness is more than being free from illness: it is a process of change and growth towards a mentally and physically healthy lifestyle.

Through my own birth experiences and the experiences of those around me, I quickly found my calling as a birth advocate. I have knowledge and experience in a variety of birth scenarios ; VBAC, HBAC, Twins, Cesarean, vaginal breech and water birth. As an advocate of women centered, choice based care, I have been involved in implementing prenatal programs at womens' detention centres, as well as the midwifery advocacy group Where's My Midwife. I endeavour to keep current on research, policies and trends surrounding maternity care. I am also a Registered Massage Therapist.

I am certified in neonatal resuscitation, CPR for health care providers, and hold a BA Ling/Psych. Certified as a doula and childbirth educator many years ago, my children would say that makes me 'ancient ' . I have been a Second Birth Attendant for both the Midwives of Headwaters Hills and Grand Valley Midwives. In order to live a higher quality life, maintaining optimal wellness is key.
